Movie That Standouts At This Year’s Cannes Film Festival

Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda last came to Cannes with his Palme d’Or-winning Shoplifters. He returned with Broker, the inventive and touching tale of two men involved with a “baby box” drop-off in Busan that is, in legal terms, a child trafficking unit. But when they encounter a woman who wants her child back, the trio team up to find it the best home. Broker is a gorgeous film about found families, and stars the K-Pop singer IU in an awards-worthy performance.
